There is absolutely nothing worse than working so hard to build your business or brand only to find yourself in a situation that could potentially tarnish and irrevocably damage it.
Like it or not, you are judged harshly by those you associate with in business. Whether it is someone with a criminal or drug related past, it doesn’t matter how clean and ethical you are, you just got painted with that brush. So you have to be vicious and cut that cancer from your life before it infects everything that you have worked so hard to gain.
Heavy stuff, I know!
But do you really think anyone who would wish harm on others cares about the aftermath of their comments on others? More than likely not. They are far too busy sitting their behinds on a keyboard berating people who point out their behavior as “millennials” or “snowflakes” or whatever phrase it is this week.
Wrong is still wrong. No matter what.
Whether it is homophobia, people wishing self-harm on others, rumors or what not. You have to make the conscious choice to do what is right and ultimately best. I get it since I just did the exact same thing because I refuse to have my company or myself associated with someone spewing such hateful heinous comments.
You have to stand by your ethics and do what is best for you. No one or nothing is worse than death by association. You may never recover and that person never cared what damage they did so stand your ground. Show everyone that you have ethics and operate your business with standards.
Until next time, stand your ground, ignite your fire, and follow your dreams.
